WAYLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The wait is over for people who loved the fast food chain Hot n’ Now.
The owners of the franchise will open up their first restaurant today at 10:30 a.m. in Wayland after they purchased the rights to the company.
Hot n’ Now was founded in Kalamazoo in the 1980s and grew quickly, having hundreds of locations selling 39-cent hamburgers, 49-cent cheeseburgers, the very popular olive burger, and more, but went bankrupt in the early 2000s.
Only one restaurant has remained open, an independent Hot n’ Now in Sturgis.
The owners of the new Wayland franchise say while they won’t ever have 39-cent hamburgers again, they will have a menu that is affordable for everyone.
The new location is across the street from the Gun Lake Casino and Hotel.
