NEWBERG TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Cass County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the suspicious death of a man found in the kitchen of a home in the 11000 block of Born Street in Newberg Township.
They went to the home on a welfare check and saw him on the floor when they looked through a window after no one opened the door.
Several dogs stopped the deputies from entering the home, and Cass County Animal Control was called to remove them.
Deputies found a woman in the home, who was also injured, and she is being treated at South Bend Memorial Hospital.
The investigation remains open, and the sheriff’s office says the man’s death is considered suspicious.
No information on any suspect has been released, nor have any names.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office also has not disclosed when the two were discovered.
