KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A coalition of women elected officials from across Kalamazoo County is coming together to provide 200 complete Thanksgiving meals to local families facing food insecurity.
The Kalamazoo County Women Leaders Thanksgiving Food Drive will collect donations, assemble meal kits, and distribute them to families throughout the county.
The group says participating community leaders include Commissioner Tami Rey, Commissioner Jen Strebs, Commissioner Monteze O. Morales, Commissioner Abigail Wheeler, Commissioner Stephanie Hoffman, Rep. Julie M. Rogers, Vice Mayor Jeanne Hess, Public Housing Commissioner Gwendolyn Hooker, Trustee TiAnna Harrison, Trustee Yvonne Payton, Trustee Colleen Leonard, Public Housing Commissioner Patrese Griffin, and Public Housing Commissioner Kizzy Bradford.
They are collecting monetary donations through this Thursday, with the meal distribution taking place Sunday, November 23,
