BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 35-year-old Battle Creek man is facing charges of accosting a child for immoral purposes and using a computer or the internet to communicate with a person to commit a crime.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says Jeremy Clark tried to engage in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl. During their two-week investigation, he made several attempts to solicit the girl, including requests to purchase underwear and see intimate parts of her.
Sheriff Steve Hinkley says in a statement Clark’s arrest is an “ongoing reminder to parents: social media can be a dangerous place.” He adds awareness and education are keys to protecting kids from people who want to harm them.
The investigation remains open.
