KALAMAZOO, MI (WK,O AM/FM) – A man who bond agents were trying to pick up allegedly fired at the agents then held police at bay before surrendering.
The incident happened just after 6:00 p.m. at a business at 2980 Business One Drive, Kalamazoo. While attempting to make the arrest on the male subject, two rounds were fired through the window of the business at the bond agents.
Officers were called to the area where the business area was locked down and a search warrant was executed. After several hours of negotiations, the male subject gave himself up and he
was taken into custody and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Kalamazoo
Department of Public Safety, Kalamazoo Metro Swat, Kalamazoo Township Police, the Western Michigan University Police Department, Life EMS, Michigan State Police, and Comstock Township Fire Department.
