KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Students are casting their ballots in the presidential race on the Western Michigan University campus.
Jeff Breneman is the vice-president of government relations for Western Michigan University and says people forget that this is the first chance for many students to vote.
Kalamazoo County has placed an early in-person voting location on the WMU campus at the Fetzer Center. Students are also able to register to vote there.
The Michigan Secretary of State’s Office says despite having 1.4 million people between the ages of 18 and 29 registered to vote in the 2020 election, only around 864,000 actually cast their ballot four years ago.
