CLIMAX TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – At the height of Sunday’s thunderstorms in Kalamazoo County, three people were killed and another three were injured after their vehicle was struck by falling tree.
At 5:41 p.m. the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a traffic collision on East S Ave, just west of South 47th Street. They found that a tree had struck a vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating the deaths of three family members, with three other individuals being treated at local hospitals for their injuries. One
of the injured parties is in critical condition and the other two are in stable condition.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, the Pavilion Fire Department, the Climax Fire Department and Life EMS.
They say the accident is under investigation and details will be released pending the notification of
family members.
