BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek police have arrested a 30-year-old Grand Rapids man for reckless driving and crashing through a home on Upton Avenue.
It started with a 911 call about a silver minivan driving erratically in Springfield early Friday morning, with the caller saying they saw the van running red lights and stop signs near Lafayette Avenue and North 20th Street before going east on Lafayette toward Battle Creek.
The van was also seen going south on Kendall Street and kept running red lights and stop signs.
Calhoun County Central Dispatch then received several calls about a van that crashed into the home on Upton Avenue.
He was arrested for operating while impaired, and the 70-year-old woman who lived at the home was rescued from her second-floor bedroom by Battle Creek firefighters.
