WHITE LAKE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Former Congressman Mike Rogers is launching another bid for U.S. Senate in Michigan.
The former House Intelligence Committee chair made the announcement Monday morning, saying he is a “conservative fighter” who would be “an ally for President Trump and champion for Michigan.”
This is Rogers’ second run for U.S. Senate after losing in 2024 to Democrat Elissa Slotkin in the race to replace retiring Senator Debbie Stabenow.
The race this time to succeed retiring Senator Gary Peters is expected to be one of the most contested in 2026. Republicans view the state President Donald Trump narrowly carried last year as a top pickup opportunity.
In addition to Rogers, Republican Tudor Dixon is weighing a campaign. On the Democrat side, state Sen. Mallory McMorrow announced her campaign earlier this month, while Pete Buttigieg has taken himself out of contention.
