PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The proposed budget for the coming year in the city of Portage has been presented to the city council.
It’s City Manager Pat McGinnis’ spending plan for the fiscal year which begins on July 1st. He says it is a balanced budget with no increases in the tax rate or reduction of core services.
He says it is designed to address priorities set by the city council.
He says it has now been posted on the city’s website.
Mayor Patricia Randall says it’s the most important item they do every year.
The council plans to hold two City Hall work sessions to go over the proposal and to discuss alterations and amendments: one at 2 p.m. on April 29th and if needed a second session on May 13th at 2 p.m.
Those sessions are open to the public.
