PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Indivisible Greater Kalamazoo is holding what they are calling a peaceful rally on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Westnedge Avenue in Portage.
The event is part of the May Day National Day of Action, which is a nationwide movement to “reclaim power from corporate elites and rejecting the influence of Trump, Musk, and their billionaire backers.”
The rally will also include a community food drive and trash pick-up effort. The effort is to “help strengthen and beautify” the local community.
Attendees are asked to bring a donation for local food banks and to help clean up the rally area.
The food donation wish list includes cereal; canned soup and stews; meals in a box; shelf-stable almond or rice milk; baking mixes; protein drinks; canned meat; kid-friendly snacks; granola or cereal bars; shelf-stable tortillas; and microwavable foods.
