BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek firefighters were able to put out a fire at a home on North Mason Avenue Tuesday afternoon in about 30 minutes, but had to battle high winds to do it.
They were called to the home just after 4 p.m. and found the fire in the basement of the single-story, wood-framed home.
Several cats were removed from the home, but officials say only one survived.
No people were injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
