KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – After nearly 30 years as the leader of the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, Pastor Michael Brown will be stepping down at the end of the year.
Brown currently serves as President and CEO of the organization. The group’s Board of Directors has selected current Chief Operations Officer Pastor John Simpson as his replacement, beginning January 1, 2026.

Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries serves men, women, and children in crisis by offering emergency shelter, food, addiction recovery services, and a faith-based approach to healing.
Brown has been with the organization for 28 years, while Simpson joined Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries 10 years ago.
