BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB/WNWN)- On February 15th of this year, deputies from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8000 block of 6 Mile Road for a reported death. Upon investigation, it was determined that the male individual had died from exposure. Deputies are continuing efforts to positively identify the deceased.
Fingerprint records indicate the man was previously in Georgia in December 2022, during which time he used the name Missla Lopez. He was accompanied by two other individuals, Orlando Lopez and Rolando Sanchez. Reports suggest Orlando Lopez may be the deceased’s brother.
In February , the individual was admitted to a medical facility in Kalamazoo under the name Misael Sanchez.
The deceased is believed to be from Guatemala. A distinguishing physical feature includes silver caps on both front teeth, each marked with a star.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying this individual and locating any family members who may be in the area. Anyone with information is urged to contact Lt. Chris Bacik at 269-781-0880 or provide an anonymous tip through Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.
