BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The federal Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a $1.5 million grant to Calhoun County.
The Calhoun County Land Bank Authority says the money is from the EPA’s Brownfields Assessment Program and will be used for environmental assessments and planning activities across the county.
The grant will be active from October 2024 through September 2028 and will focus on properties in and around Battle Creek and Albion but will also be available throughout Calhoun County.
Officials say they are accepting applications from property owners who are interested in having their sites considered for inclusion in the grant activities.
