PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The public is being invited to take a final walk through Portage Central Elementary School on Wednesday evening between 5:45 and 7:15 p.m.
The building is closing and will be demolished at the end of the academic year after being in use since 1969.
Former students, staff, and families can stroll through the halls for a final time.
Portage Public Schools officials say the elementary has served generations of learners, and it holds plenty of memories. The walk-through is a casual chance to say goodbye, snap a few photos, and reconnect with others who spent time at Central over the years.
A brand-new Central Elementary will open in the fall, bringing exciting updates and opportunities for future students.
