KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Officials with Spectrum, which provides cable and internet service to thousands of homes in southwest Michigan say the severe thunderstorms, high winds, and tornadoes that caused widespread damage in the Kalamazoo and Portage areas of Michigan, downing trees, poles and power lines, has made some areas still inaccessible to their crews.
Spectrum says service interruptions are largely aligned with power outages impacting the areas. Their crews are working alongside the power companies to make the necessary repairs to their network and get customers back online, and have brought in more than 50 additional technicians from neighboring areas to help expedite the restoration efforts wherever it is safe to do so.
