KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – There have been two more shootings in the Kalamazoo area in the past week, and with Memorial Day just ahead, Kalamazoo city commissioner Qianna Decker says it’s important that residents know about the city’s gun amnesty program.
To ensure that the process is anonymous, Kalamazoo Public Safety has arranged to have local churches provide the drop off locations.
She says six churches are participating.
The list can be found at the city’s website under the gun amnesty program.
The guns should be dropped off in a bag, where they will be placed in a secure lock box, until a public safety officer can come by and pick it up.
