OLDWATER TOWNSHIP, MI – Michigan State Police say a driver they stopped for speeding on I-69 on Branch County Saturday had over two kilograms of heroin/fentanyl in her vehicle, with a street value of $250,000 to $300,000.
Troopers stopped the driver on southbound I-69 near Newton Road in Coldwater Township as she was traveling at 97 mph.
Once troopers learned she did not have a valid driver’s license, they searched the car and found the large quantity of heroin/fentanyl, which is 100 times as potent s morphine and is generally mixed with other drugs.
A release from the Michigan State Polixe Marshall Post said the quantity was enough “to kill approximately one million people.”
The woman was arrested and remains in the Branch County Jail with no bond.
