(Reuters) -Motorola Solutions is in advanced talks to acquire closely held wireless-radio maker Silvus Technologies for around $4.5 billion, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The companies could announce a deal within weeks, the report said, adding that the final agreement had not been reached.
Motorola Solutions and Silvus did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment.
Silvus, which is owned by private equity firm TJC, has been exploring options including a potential sale or initial public offering, according to the report.
