LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer says President Trump told her that he would not pardon those convicted of a failed plot to kidnap her in 2020.
During a recent interview Whitmer said, “he asked me how I’d feel about this and I said I think it would be the wrong decision. I would oppose it and he said ‘okay, I’ll drop it.'”
The governor shared she believes anything short of condemning political violence does a disservice to everyone and noted she was one of the first public officials to condemn the attempted assassination of Trump.
Whitmer’s comments came just a day after Trump showed openness to pardoning two men convicted for a failed plot to kidnap her from her vacation home.
