KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 34-year-old man is in the Kalamazoo County Jail on several charges after he was arrested Tuesday by the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team.
He had a probation violation warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service and was found in the 700 block of Simpson Street. The man resisted arrest and was found to have a concealed and loaded firearm which had been reported stolen to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety in 2023.
The suspect had been arrested in April of this year for illegal possession of a firearm and resisting arrest in Kalamazoo Township and was released from jail after being issued a personal recognizance bond once he was arraigned.
KVET officers were assisted by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
No one was injured in his arrest.
