LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks of Grand Rapids and House Speaker Matt Hall of Richland are scheduled to meet today to discuss the Fiscal Year 2026 state budget.
Brinks says she is “very eager to make progress” and adds it’s time to have the conversations.
Hall said Friday he is also “ready to work in good faith” on the budget and wants the K-12 education funding passed by July 1.
Senate K-12 Appropriations Subcommittee chairman Darrin Camilleri says Hall is the only obstacle to getting the education budget done.
