LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – State House Speaker Matt Hall of Richland believes the School Aid budget for the next fiscal year can be done by July 1.
Hall says he also thinks a road funding plan could be ready by then as well.
He said yesterday that he is seeing momentum from both House and Senate leaders on getting the budget for schools ready within the next week.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s office is encouraged by the progress that has been made in talks between her, Hall, and Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks of Grand Rapids.
Whitmer’s spokesman Bobby Leddy says she will “continue to bring both sides together” to reach a deal.
