KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Health Department will be conducting a survey targeting older residents to find out what they need to live better lives.
A national polling firm has been hired to send out 9,000 postcards at random, inviting residents who are 60 and older to participate. Those who respond will be sent the poll and a prepaid envelope to mail the finished questionnaire back.
“This survey helps us understand what’s working, what’s needed, and how we can improve support for older adults in our community,” said Don Saldia, Division Manager of the Area Agency on Aging.
The survey asks questions about housing, the availability of transportation, physical and mental health services, and opportunities for jobs and volunteering.
Those who don’t get an invitation can still participate. Beginning July 3, the poll will be accessible online in multiple languages.
