KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Public Safety is investigating four separate shootings that happened July 4 and July 5 between 10:50 p.m. and 4 a.m.
A 34-year-old man was killed in the third shooting police are investigating that happened around 3 a.m. July 5 in the 1200 block of West Paterson Street. Two other men, 23 and 29-years-old, were shot in their legs.
The first shooting was just before 11 p.m. on July 4 in the 1300 block of Krom Street. A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition and a 41-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were both shot in an ankle.
A 28-year-old man is hospitalized in stable condition after he was hit with by a stray bullet when he was at a bonfire in the 1400 block of Center Street around 12:20 a.m. July 5.
The fourth shooting happened just after 4 a.m. in the 800 block of Woodward Avenue. Police say they responded to a report of shots being fired and found an abandoned vehicle nearby with bullet damage. A 17-year-old later showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound to one of their wrists.
No arrests have been made, and no information on the suspects has been released.
