LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan’s unemployment rate for June is down one-tenth of a percent to 5.3%.
The state Department of Technology, Management & Budget released the jobless data Thursday.
They say it was the second consecutive month the state’s unemployment rate went down, and labor market information director Wayne Rourke says that indicates a labor market stabilization in the second quarter.
The national unemployment rate also fell by a tenth-of-a-percent to 4.1%.
Michigan’s jobless rate remains 1.2% higher than the national average.
