KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Comstock Township Deputy Fire Chief Michael Dyer admits in bodycam video from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office that he had been drinking and was on the way home from the bar when he hit and injured an 11-year-old girl.
Dyer told deputies he would take a field sobriety test, but he knew he was going to fail it.
His blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit at point-155 just after midnight on June 22.
Dyer is on leave from the department and has not yet been charged.
The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case.
