BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Battle Creek and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy will conduct a lake weed treatment Thursday on Goguac Lake.
The treatment will target nuisance aquatic weeds to help maintain a safe and healthy lake environment. Signs will be posted in the treated areas, asking neighbors and visitors to stay out of the water for 24 hours following the application. This allows the treatment to effectively reach and control the targeted weed species.
Anyone who enters the water during the posted restriction period is advised to shower after getting out of the water as a precaution.
Willard Beach Park and the surrounding beach area will remain open during the treatment.
