KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A high-speed crash into a building on East Michigan Avenue in downtown Kalamazoo is under investigation.
Public Safety says the 22-year-old driver suffered several cuts and he was treated and released from an area hospital after the crash around 2:30 Wednesday morning.
Also in the car were a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl, and a 34-year-old woman. Officers say a sixth person ran off from the scene and has not been found. None of the passengers were hurt.
Alcohol and excessive speed are being investigated as being factors in the crash.
The crash happened in the 200 block of East Michigan Avenue and repairs to the building are being made.
