KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo city commissioners now have a timeline for their city manager search, if all goes as planned, they could pick their next city CEO before Halloween.
The city’s consultant on the search, Pamela Wideman, told the commission last night they could begin asking for applications next week. They would be taking applications and doing preliminary screening into early October with finalists visiting in mid-October.
A final selection could be made around October 20th.
They are looking for someone with a degree in public administration with at least a decade of experience in local governmental operations.
She says she has also heard requests for more intangible qualifications.
In case you were wondering, the salary range is $220,000 to $250,000 per year, with city benefits and a few other perks.
Vice Mayor Jeanne Hess says Wideman will be meeting this morning with a number of invited community stakeholders to get their input.
The search survey is online and also available on paper at Kalamazoo City Hall through the 24th.
So far 200 have responded to the survey.
A virtual community input session may also be scheduled with the consultant.
