BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – A driver has been charged in connection to a crash last month that killed Calhoun Community High School senior Daelnn Roark.
18-year-old Gavin Christopher Scott, was officially charged Thursday with Operating while intoxicated causing death, Reckless driving causing death, operating while intoxicated causing serious injury and Reckless driving causing serious impairment of a body part.
That crash also seriously injured a female passenger.
According to the Battle Creek Police, Scott was allegedly driving recklessly, doing “donuts” in a parking lot at Irving Park on July 14th when he lost control of the car ejecting both passengers.
Scott is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause hearing on Aug. 26, followed by a preliminary examination, Sept. 2.
