KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The “Help Wanted” sign is up for Kalamazoo’s next city manager.
The city is officially recruiting for the successor to City Manager Jim Ritsema, who is scheduled to retire in November.
Potential applicants can download a comprehensive brochure highlighting the job, its responsibilities, and the Kalamazoo community.
Raftelis is handling the electronic applications and assisting the city in its recruitment.
The online application includes a brief form and prompts the individual to submit a cover letter and resume, and the applications will start being reviewed September 12.
Candidates will be reviewed based on criteria developed through community surveys, stakeholder input, and discussions with city commissioners. A group of five finalists will be invited to the city for a community meet-and-greet, a tour, and interviews with the commission.
The community survey will be accepted through midnight on Sunday, August 24 and is still available at kalamazoocity.org/CityManagerSearch..
