KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Western Michigan University has unveiled an expanded pedestrian walkway on campus before classes begin this week.
The $5.6 million project turned a former parking lot into a park-like setting with grass and a sidewalk.
It goes from the Gathering Tree statue to the intersection of Ring Road North and Michigan Avenue.
Hammock pods near The Oaklands bed and breakfast have been installed, and it expands to the area behind the WMU administration building.
