KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One of the changes this year at Kalamazoo Public Schools is for seniors, and we don’t mean 12th graders.
Beginning this fall, elderly residents will get a discount on admissions at sports events at KPS facilities, and senior citizens who pick up a KPS Gold Card will get in free.
District spokeswoman Susan Coney says residents over 62 can stop by at the Administration Building on Howard Street and show their ID to qualify.
If you don’t have the card, seniors can still get the discount.
There are some exclusions, with those being hockey games, invitational playoffs and tournament games. The card is non-transferable.
Coney says the Gold Card never needs to be renewed.
