PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Indivisible Paw Paw held a pop-up protest downtown in Paw Paw yesterday aiming to call attention to workers’ rights and federal funding.
It was the fifth pop-up protest held by the group this year, and also expressed their discontent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests of migrant workers.
Spokeswoman Ann Burch says Van Buren County is second in the state for fruit and vegetable production, and that can’t be done without migrant employees.
They were at the intersection of East Michigan Avenue and Kalamazoo Street for about 90 minutes.
