ST. IGNACE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Around 33-thousand people took part in the 67th annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk on Monday.
The event has been held every year since the bridge opened in 1958, except 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the walk.
U.S. Senator Gary Peters led the thousands walking the bridge and said they were there to celebrate labor and unions that transformed Michigan and the American workplace.
The Mackinac Bridge was closed from 6:30 a.m. to noon yesterday for the event.
