NEW YORK -Ralph Lauren used a bold palette of red, black and white for a line featuring monochrome two-piece sets, floor-length dresses and slinky accessories as he presented his spring 2026 collection on the eve of the start of New York Fashion Week.
Oprah Winfrey and Vogue’s Anna Wintour were among the front-row guests at the show on Wednesday evening, which took place outside the official fashion week calendar.
Held in a studio inside the company’s New York headquarters, decor included black wicker chandeliers, white walls and sprawling white couches to set off the collection, which the label said reflected a woman’s “strength and sensuality.”
Walking down a black and white staircase, the first model wore a black bra, floor-length white overcoat, and black trousers with a belt. Others were dressed in long sundresses, wide-brimmed sunhats, and two-piece red and white sets.
Partway through the show, the looks changed to include patterned fabrics, including black, floral embellishments and striped blazers, shirts and dresses paired with accessories such as straw hats and silver necklaces.
Ralph Lauren’s evening wear line included dresses in silky white and glittering, dark sequined pieces.
Donning black sunglasses, the 85-year-old designer waved to the audience with his wife, Ricky Ann Lauren, receiving a standing ovation from his guests.
Taking place this year amid a global luxury goods slowdown, New York Fashion Week will run from September 11 to September 16, with more than 60 designers on the official calendar.
