COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Comstock Township board of trustees has fired Deputy Fire Chief Michael Dyer after he pled no contest to driving while intoxicated causing serious injury.
Dyer was driving drunk June 22nd around midnight and hit and injured 11-year-old La’Shae Parker.
Body camera video from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office shows the 63-year-old admitting he’d been drinking and was heading home from dinner where he had three gin and tonics.
Dyer’s blood alcohol level was well over the legal limit at the scene and at the county jail.
Parker needed surgery to screw a plate onto her knee and broke one hand.
