WAYLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The new Hot ‘n Now in Wayland has set its opening date.
The restaurant will open at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 13 across the street from the Gun Lake Casino Resort, right off of US-131.
It was built in Alpena, trucked down to Wayland and assembled over the past several weeks at 1146 129th Avenue. It is directly behind Noonday Market.
The owners say the 39-cent hamburger Hot ‘n Now was known for in the 1980s, 90s, and early 2000s won’t return due to higher food prices, but they say they will have affordable food for everyone.
It is the first new Hot ‘n Now to open in a few decades since the franchise went bankrupt and closed all but one location in Sturgis, which has remained open and independent.
