LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – More of Michigan’s energy is coming from renewable sources.
The Michigan Public Service Commission has released a report showing renewable energy generation was up 28% from 2023 to 2024.
Wind energy accounts for 67% of renewable sources, solar is at 18%, biomass at 8%, and hydroelectric water is at 5%.
By 2030, all electric utilities in Michigan will be required to have at least 50% of their energy from renewable sources.
