LIVONIA, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Court documents in Livonia show former Battle Creek police officer Hunter Barnett requested police after he pointed a gun just inches from the face of another off-duty officer in May.
The officers were in Livonia for a training conference, and he had drank four-fifths of a bottle of Bacardi rum from Sunday through Thursday, May 15th.
Early on Friday morning, Barnett was told by his roommate to leave his gun inside the room when he was going outside, to which he replied “don’t touch me” and pointed the gun at his face.
The officer was fired last month after Battle Creek police completed their review.
Barnett is charged with possession of a firearm under the influence and aiming without malice.
