Groundbreaking ceremony for $86.67 million Friendship Village Kalamazoo expansion project Monday

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Groundbreaking will be held Monday for $86.67 million expansion of a senior living community in Kalamazoo.

Officials with Friendship Village Kalamazoo on Drake Road say the project includes a new 68-unit, 150,000 square foot independent living building, a new 40-bed, 30,000 square foot nursing facility, and renovation of the current Commons Building.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be Monday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m., and will feature Friendship Village Kalamazoo Executive Director Tim Cain, Board Chair Todd McDonald, and other local officials and community partners.
