KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The public got a chance yesterday afternoon to meet face to face with the four finalists for city manager in Kalamazoo and may see them touring around town today.
This evening, they will get a grilling from the current city commission.
Commissioners Chris Praedel and Jeanne Hess sit on the search subcommittee and say they have all seen their resumes, their news packages and the background information gleaned by the search firm.
Both say it will come down to the interviews today.
Praedel says they want the public to tune in too.
The interviews will begin at 4 p.m. at Kalamazoo City Hall.
They won’t make the decision until Monday, which will give the public time to go online and fill out a survey on how they felt the candidates did as well.
The four finalists are: Elle Cole, the acting City Manager in Saline, Michigan; Laura Lam, Kalamazoo’s chief operating officer; Malcolm Hankins, the Deputy City Manager in Des Moines, Iowa; and Odis Jones, a former city manager from Texas.
