HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The mother of a West Ottawa Middle School student says her son’s football coach tackled him last month and caused the eighth grader to suffer a concussion.
13-year-old Patreon Williams says he was running pass coverage drills and his coach got mad, entered the drill himself, and hit him hard, causing him to lose consciousness briefly.
Mother Maria Williams says she saw her son get tackled, but didn’t know until she asked him who hit him that it was the coach and not another student.
The coach was fired, but other parents have been pushing for him to be reinstated.
Patreon says he is still dealing with dizziness and headaches.
