LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Association of County Clerks has unanimously passed a resolution opposing ranked-choice voting in the state.
The organization RankMIVote is pushing for a ballot measure that the MACC says “directly and substantially alters the administration of elections in Michigan.”
They add it would place new and complex responsibilities on clerks and their teams and would also require “careful evaluations from those charged with carrying it out.”
The MACC says they rarely weigh in on ballot initiatives, but felt they had to with this one.
