LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A new poll by Glengariff Group finds 75.8% of Michiganders are spending more for groceries, 68% are paying more for utilities, but their political party affiliation shapes whether or not they are upset by that.
Pollster Richard Czuba says Republican voters are more optimistic about the economy even though economic indicators have not been improving, and Democrats are more pessimistic.
The University of Michigan Surveys of Consumer Sentiment report in September showed a lower level of people being optimistic than they found in January 2009 at the lowest part of the Great Recession.
