COVERT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the fall of a contractor into a pool of water above the nuclear reactor at the Palisades nuclear power plant.
The employee was not badly hurt when it happened Tuesday, and returned to work on Wednesday.
Holtec International’s Nick Culp says it was an accident and they are also looking into ways to prevent something like that from happening again.
The radiation protection worker is employed by Radiation Safety and Control Services of New Hampshire and was wearing required protective equipment when they fell into the water.
