THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – American Axle & Manufacturing is getting help from the state as they work on upgrading its Three Rivers factory.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation says American Axle will get a 5-year, 100% state essential services assessment exemption worth nearly $1 million.
The company is in the midst of a nearly $133-million upgrade in Three Rivers, bringing in new machinery and upgrading the roof, HVAC system, and wastewater treatment system. The upgrades also will include exterior and interior renovations.
American Axle is the largest employer in St. Joseph County of union workers, with nearly 1,100 in Three Rivers. They have around 80 facilities in 18 countries.
