KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -A Kalamazoo man who fled from police is now in custody and facing numerous felony charges.
Wednesday members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement
Team (KVET) Crime Reduction Team (CRT) were conducting a directed patrol near the intersection of Alamo Avenue and Douglas Avenue when they saw two masked males walking together eastbound on Alamo Avenue, with one of the males showing clear indicators of being armed with a
firearm.
Police made contact with the two males near the intersection of Cobb Avenue and Nola Street, at which time one of the males immediately fled on foot at the sight of Investigators. The
23-year-old male was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and was found to be in possession of a firearm reported stolen out of Portage Michigan in early 2023.
The Kalamazoo resident was arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail for numerous illegal weapons violations, resisting and obstructing, and additional outstanding
warrants.
